Today's post brings you two cards using a couple of Brutus Monroe 3" x 4" Stamp Sets.
The first card today uses the
Flower Gnome stamp. I started by stamping the gnome out on
Perfect Blend Alcohol Paper with
Raven Detail Ink. Next, I colored the gnome in with a variety of Copic markers. I did not keep a list of markers this time, I just grabbed a color to start, and went from there. When finished, I used my Scan N Cut to trim my image down leaving a 1/4" white border. I was sad to notice that I did not pay attention and the SNC cut part of the bottom off but decided I would just go with it and camouflage this with my sentiment.
For my card panel, I looked through my stash and found a scrap of yellow cardstock that matched the yellow from the Copic Markers. I taped the panel with the Mixed Media Stencil Flower Burst with some temporary tape and covered it with the Pearl Chroma Glaze. (Tip: I only apply the glaze in one direction, this helps with keeping the glaze where I want it and not to seep into other areas.) I set this aside to dry overnight. (Tip: Since I do most of my weekly crafting at night; I make several backgrounds at once and set them aside to dry overnight so I can continue the next day.) I used more of the same yellow cardstock to cut out a circle with one of the Circle Foundation Dies. I stamped the sentiment from the set with Raven Detail ink.
I decided to ground the gnome with about a 1/2" blue strip (also from my scraps). I attached the blue strip and the gnome to my dry Chroma Glaze panel with liquid glue. Then I used glue to place my sentiment circle to overlap the part of the gnome that was cut off. Finally, I attached the whole panel to the front of my white A2 card base.
Here is a close up that shows the shimmer from the Pearl Chroma Glaze.
For my second card today, I used the
Stand by You stamp set and a piece of paper from the Fabulous Flamingos (which I believe is retire now). I used some temporary tape to attach the
Slim Line Tea Leaf Stencil to the top part of the paper. I spread some of the
Bubble Gum Chroma Glaze over the top and carefully removed the stencil, put it aside to dry overnight.
Next, I stamped the Flamingos with
Raven Detail Ink and colored them in with Copic Markers. I then fussy cut them out with my Detail Scissors. I decided to cut them out separately to put on my card base because I did not want to color in the background or leave all that empty white space.
The next day when my background was dry, I cut it down to 3-1/4" x 6-1/4 which is slightly smaller than my Mini Slim White card base @ 3-1/2" x 6-1/2." I attached the two flamingos right about wherei stopped the Chroma Glaze. Then, I used my Quickie Glue pen to color in the feathers on the head, the tip of the beaks, the water, and the wings of the flamingos. I quickly covered the wet glue with some Glitter and shook off the extra.
I left the sentiment off the front of my card. Instead, I chose to stamp the I'll Stand By You on the inside with
Raven Detail Ink.Here you can see the glitter on my flamingos.
